The City of Toronto’s Development Review Division, in consultation with other City Divisions, the community, and local Councillors, are beginning a Planning Framework process for the Islington Village area. This Planning Framework will review the existing policies, strategies and guidelines applicable to Islington Village to identify opportunities to reinforce the area’s main street village character. This work is in response to 2024 Council direction to conduct a scoped review of this area. The Islington Village Planning Framework will focus on streetscape and public realm improvements that enhance this character while addressing new Provincial policy changes. This meeting will be the first Community Consultation as part of this Planning Framework process.
