On March 26, 2026, City Council endorsed the Recommended Option for managing growth and change in North York Centre over the next 30 years. As part of its decision, Council directed staff to consider changes to the proposed parks network, and proposed land uses and building types along Empress Avenue, Willowdale Avenue and in two blocks located northeast of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue (PH28.6 Recommendation 13).
