The existing NYCSP was adopted in 1997, and a review is needed now to better understand current conditions and trends, and work with the community to refresh the vision and policies that will guide growth and investment in the area over the coming decades.

The study area for North York at the Centre includes the current Secondary Plan area along Yonge Street from Highway 401 to Drewry Avenue/Cummer Avenue, and boundary expansion study areas in neighbourhoods within approximately 800 meters of the three subway stations located in the Centre.

Community engagement and technical analysis in Phase 1 and 2 of the project informed a Recommended Option for directing growth and change in North York Centre over the next 30 years. The Recommended Option includes maps and policies addressing land use, building types, parks and open spaces, public realm and mobility.

During Phase 3, online and print communications will continue to be used to raise awareness of the project, share reports, and promote in-person and online engagement opportunities from April 2026 to early 2027.
