Toronto's Open Data Program makes data from the City available to the public, so they can freely use and analyze it.

Whether you're a researcher, entrepreneur, civic technologist, journalist or a curious citizen, you can suggest data for publication on the City's Open Data Portal! You can also request updates or improvements to existing open datasets. And if another suggestion is similar to yours, you can 'like' it to show your support.

Before you make a request, check out Toronto's Open Data Catalogue to make sure the data you're looking for hasn't been released already.

These requests are reviewed monthly by Toronto Open Data. We'll do our best to respond and let you know if your request is possible. Once we have actioned a request, you can follow its status on the City's Open Data Publication Queue.

City of Toronto (Technology Services Division) collects personal information under the legal authority of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, sections 7, 8, and 136 and Toronto City Council item 2018.EX30.12, as confirmed by the City of Toronto By-law 163-2018. The information will be used to improve the City’s Open Data Program, identify City data that could potentially be released as open data, facilitate opportunities for the public to use open data, prepare internal reports, communicate updates on requests for open data, share notifications that open datasets have been published or improved, and inform the public about opportunities to provide feedback on the Open Data Program. Questions about this collection can be directed to the Open Data Supervisor, Technology Services Division, Metro Hall, 55 John Street, Floor 15, Toronto, Ontario, M5V 3C6, or by phone at 647-270-4608
