Budget Consultations took place in October by way of an online survey and public meetings with Mayor Olivia Chow, Budget Committee Chair Shelley Carroll and members of Council, online and in person. In addition to the public consultations, Toronto residents are encouraged to provide their feedback on City’s 2026 Budget by:

Joining a Telephone Town Hall

You’re invited to join Mayor Olivia Chow and Budget Committee Chair Shelley Carroll at telephone town halls on January 14 and 15 to learn more about the 2026 Budget, ask questions and share your feedback.

Call 1-833-380-0687 toll free or join online at the time of the event:

  • Wednesday, January 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, January 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Speaking to Budget Committee

Speak to members of the Budget Committee virtually or in person on Tuesday, January 20 and Wednesday, January 21. Participants must register before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 19 and indicate their preferred time and location.

Submitting written comments

You can submit your comments and feedback to Budget Committee to be included in the public record by emailing buc@toronto.ca. More information is available on the Have Your Say at Committees webpage. You can also provide your comments and feedback to Members of Council.


Budget timeline and Special City Council meeting

Mayor will present a budget to City Council by Sunday, February 1, with City Council scheduled to consider the 2026 Budget at a special meeting on Tuesday, February 10.
