Toronto Building Permit Week Open House

The City is inviting homeowners, small builders and industry professionals to learn more about starting a construction or renovation project in Toronto. At this open house, City staff will be available to answer questions about zoning, building permits, tree permits, inspections, licensing requirements and other City programs related to housing and home improvements.

This event is designed to help you navigate the City’s services and provide an opportunity to:

  • Ask questions and understand permit requirements.
  • Learn about the end-to-end permit journey, from zoning rules and Committee of Adjustment applications to plan review, inspections and closing your permit.
  • Get guidance on related requirements such as tree protection permits, fire safety inspections and business licensing for renovation trades.
  • Speak directly with City staff about programs and initiatives including BetterHomesTO energy incentives, multi-tenant housing regulations, RentSafeTO apartment standards and the Rental Renovation Licence Bylaw.

Join this free event on Monday, March 23 at the Metro Hall Rotunda, located at 55 John Street.
